On June 5, 1967, fifteen merchant ships entered the Suez Canal expecting a routine passage. Within hours, the Six-Day War erupted, the canal was closed, and the vessels were trapped in the Great Bitter Lake, unable to continue their journeys for the next eight years.
This documentary follows the Yellow Fleet, the civilian crews stranded between war, diplomacy, and one of the world’s most important shipping routes. As the canal remained sealed, the crews built an unusual floating community with their own routines, exchanges, and ways of enduring isolation. Their story shows how war can halt more than armies — it can freeze trade, movement, labor, and ordinary lives in place.
