SWM has entered with the Stormbreaker V1200: the Shineray group, owner of the Biandronno brand, acquired the drawings of the 1,200 cm³ 45° V-twin and put it back into production. At EICMA 2026, that story takes a step forward that Milwaukee has never taken with this engine: the Stormbreaker Speciale , known as the "Stormbreaker Bagger" on the SWM website, features a liquid-cooled version of the V-twin . Same 88.9 x 96.7 mm bore and stroke, same five-speed gearbox, but 61.2 hp (45 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm at 4,000 rpm, with the radiator placed in front of the cylinders. The detail that reveals the strategy lies in the specifications of the base V1200, which for 2027 retains the air-cooled V-twin but is rated at 58.5 hp at 5,000 rpm and 85 Nm at 4,000 rpm , which is less than the 61.2 hp and 91 Nm claimed so far. In practice, SWM finds itself with two engines: the air-cooled one, more faithful to the original and with a few less horsepower, for the €9,990 custom bike, and the liquid-cooled one, with the same numbers as before and presumably more leeway for future homologations, for the bagger. At our Test Center, the air-cooled V1200 recorded 59.3 hp at the wheel and a top speed of 181.7 km/h: we'll see if the liquid treatment makes any noticeable difference.
