Barely six months after our introduction to the new-generation 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class electric, Merc is back with another new C-Class. It’s the old C-Class! But new! But not really! What?
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C 350 4Matic is a digital refresh for the gasoline-powered C that’s been on sale since 2021. Arriving next year for sale alongside the new-new electric model that our Andrew McCredie previewed in April, the 2027 C 350 gets a few cosmetic tweaks, but otherwise carries the same platform and styling from the previous ‘W206’ generation.
Same size and class, different demographics, totally different platforms. Transition strategies are tricky though. To avoid alienating EV-averse customers at a moment when electrifying rest-of-world markets don’t particularly justify hurried investment in a new-gen gas model, both products are being offered in parallel.
