This challenge ended up being a lot harder than I expected.
Panfish aren't nearly as picky as trout or even bass, so I wasn't trying to find the "perfect" fly. I was trying to build a fly box filled with simple, durable patterns that are just plain fun to fish.
This Thursday I'll reveal the five flies that made my box—and explain why each one earned its place.
What five panfish flies would make your list?
