Bass Eat More Than You Think

McFly Angler Guide 12 days ago

Description

This Thursday I'm releasing a video where I challenged myself to answer one question:
If I could only fish five bass fly patterns for the rest of my life... which five would they be?

One thing became obvious almost immediately.
Bass don't feed like trout.

They'll eat crayfish, baitfish, frogs, dragonflies, mice, and just about anything else they think they can fit in their mouth.
They also feed throughout the entire water column.

That completely changed how I built my five-fly box.

This Thursday I'll share the five bass flies I ultimately chose—and explain why each one earned its place.

Hooks I use: Risen Fly. Most of the tying materials I use come from J. Stockard. Both have been great to work with and I genuinely recommend checking them out if you tie your own flies.
