If You Could Only Fish 5 Bass Flies...

McFly Angler Guide 13 days ago

Description

If you could only fish five bass fly patterns for the rest of your life... which five would you choose?

That was the challenge I gave myself this week.

Unlike trout, bass feed on an incredible variety of prey—from crayfish and baitfish to frogs, mice, dragonflies, and just about anything else they think they can fit in their mouth.

That made narrowing this list down to just five patterns much harder than I expected.

This Thursday I'll be sharing the five bass flies I would choose, along with the reasoning behind every decision.

Hooks I use: Risen Fly. Most of the tying materials I use come from J. Stockard. Both have been great to work with and I genuinely recommend checking them out if you tie your own flies.
