Dailies from Last Night’s Shoot – The Sound of Willow
Last night we rolled out an emotional sequence for The Sound of Willow, captured entirely on my RED Raptor cinema camera riding a smooth dolly system from first frame to last.
We’re thrilled to welcome two incredible new cast members — Zina Harrington and Mateo Saks — to the family.
Scene Setup:
Willow’s father, James Cassidy (Joshua Peri), brings her in for a CT scan after she tells her mother she’s been having headaches. Her devoted friend and teacher, Tara (Alexis Arnold), arrives to support her — and even in this moment, Willow (EmmaRain Welling) finds a way to comfort a fellow patient, a young cancer fighter in a wheelchair beside her.
But when the results come back, Dr. Blackwell (Andi Saks) faces the heartbreaking task of telling the family that Willow’s once-manageable brain tumor — which had only stolen her voice — has now turned aggressive. The prognosis is devastating: just four months left for little Willow.
