Trump says it is “largely true” that the US-Iran war contributed to Republicans’ sweeping midterm election defeat.
US President Donald Trump acknowledged the war's impact on his party's election losses following comments by Vice President JD Vance.
With Democrats set to take control of Congress next year, Trump also warned against any attempt to impeach him.
“I think it would destroy the Democrat Party if they did that,” he told reporters, insisting there was “no reason” for him to face impeachment.
His remarks come a day after Republicans suffered a major electoral setback, raising questions about the political consequences for the remainder of his presidency.
