In Chinese, tomorrow is not just a word. It is a picture. 明天 (明天, míng tiān): 明 is the sun 日 and the moon 月 together, the ancient character for brightness. Tomorrow is one full cycle of light and dark away. Today is 今天 (jīn tiān): 今 is the present, a shadow under a roof. Yesterday is 昨天 (zuó tiān): the sun, and suddenly, it was gone. Jesse Edbrooke of Transition learned all three in one episode, then played the band's song 今天晚上 that came from one surprise night in Taiwan.
