This flat in KL doesn't cool down at night

Description

Does your home sometimes feel hotter at night than in the day? 🥵

At one public housing estate in Kuala Lumpur, one family says they have to shower up to five times a night just to cope with the heat.

Resident Che Rozaini says her flat stays hot long after sunset, with small windows and surrounding buildings restricting airflow.

The walls and roof also release heat absorbed during the day, keeping indoor temperatures high at night.

While air-conditioning may offer relief, resident Mohammed Danial says running even one aircon unit can increase monthly electricity bills from RM100 (US$25) to RM150 (US$37). By comparison, the monthly rent for his flat is just RM124 (US$30).
