Talking Point's Diana Ser puts air conditioning to the test in an HDB bedroom. After 10 minutes, PM2.5 levels fell by about 15%, but remained in the Elevated range.
Don't have an air purifier? Leonard Ng, Assistant Professor at NTU's School of Materials Science & Engineering, suggests fitting filter sheets to your aircon as a possible workaround. But he cautions that they may not be as effective as a standalone air purifier.
