Rare 1 of 1 Characters
Starting off we have how Celine Dephare from Cars 2 is the only car with eyes on the headlights rather than the windshield. This was done as a direct nod to early Pixar concept art and how the team originally tested placing character eyes on the headlights. Plus her name is a pun on the French phrase "Céline des phares," which translates to "Celine of the headlights."
Up next is God from The Simpsons being the only character with 5 fingers compared to everyone else’s 4. This is the animators’ way of visually elevating him above the rest of the four-fingered cast of Springfield. It serves as a literal "perfect" hand compared to the "incomplete" hands of humanity.
Next up we have Sussie from The Amazing World of Gumball being the only ‘Chinface’ character in the entire show. While simply being an example of the show's chaotic, mismatched aesthetic of artstyles, she is physically performed by series creator Ben Bocquelet’s wife, Aurélie Charbonnier.
In Ed, Edd n Eddy, Eddy's Older Brother is the only adult character whose face is ever fully shown despite that being a strict rule throughout the series. His physical reveal serves as the ultimate thematic climax and the catalyst for Eddy's redemption in the Big Picture Show finale film.
And lastly we have Mr. Game & Watch being the only Super Smash Bros fighter with a flat 2D shape compared to everyone else’s 3D shape. This pays homage to Nintendo's hardware origins with the Game & Watch handhelds from 1980. The pre-lit LCD graphics and Game & Watch’s simple shape made sense to keep as 2D rather than trying to make a subpar 3D design.
