The FBI just Confirmed they use Gun Background Checks for THIS

Description

The FBI just confirmed something about the NICS background check system that many gun owners may not realize exists.

In this video, we break down NICS Monitoring, now known as the NICS Alert Service, and explain how federal investigators can receive alerts involving certain individuals who are still legally eligible to possess firearms. We look at FBI Director Kash Patel’s recent confirmation, the Gun Owners of America FOIA records that revealed how the older system was used, and the updated ATF guidelines that changed the rules surrounding NICS Alerts.

We also dig into the questions that still remain: Who can be placed into NICS Monitoring today? What level of suspicion is required? How long can monitoring continue? What information does the FBI actually receive? And should another FOIA request be used to determine how often the current system is being used and what results it has produced?

This isn’t about claiming every gun owner is being monitored. It’s about understanding another function of the federal background check system, why law enforcement says it exists, how the safeguards have changed, and what Second Amendment supporters should know going forward.

Stay informed, know how the system works, and let me know what you think about the current NICS Alert guidelines.
