Those who live in the Puget Sound region should be used to weekend-long road closures and lane reductions for summer construction projects.
However, that familiarity doesn't lessen the sting each time. Once again, drivers should be prepared for increased congestion, especially in Seattle and Issaquah.
“The traffic here is horrible. The cost of driving plus repairs and the way these highways keep getting repaired and causing hour to two-hour delays,” said Telitha Floyd, who opts for public transit when she can.
This weekend, crews will work on several major routes, including Interstate 5, State Route 520, and Interstate 90 from Friday, July 17, to Monday, July 20.
