Description
Can the XP ICONX with the HF2 coil find coins in a trash-filled old homesite? And how does it perform when I bring out the XP DEUS II to hunt the same area?
In this Mental Metal Detecting adventure, I'm hunting a heavily contaminated old North Carolina homesite loaded with iron, aluminum, bottle caps, and other unwanted targets. I'm using the XP ICONX with the HF2 coil to concentrate on high-conductive targets, then switching to the XP DEUS II to see what else we can recover.
There's also an important update about my XP ICONX!
The control unit shown in this hunt had developed a speaker problem that required me to keep a USB-C cable plugged in for the speaker to work. XP subsequently contacted me and replaced the control unit. I'll explain what happened and share my thoughts on the detector's performance and firmware issues.

This is a real-world hunting demonstration, not a controlled scientific comparison. Both machines found coins, and both encountered plenty of trash!
