Description
More target tones do not make a metal detector detect deeper. Tone count changes how the detector divides its target range and presents that information through audio. Two tones may create broad groups, while five tones or many tones can provide finer audible distinctions—but the target and signal remain the same.
In this Mental Metal Academy Short, Scott explains why extra audio detail can be useful and when it can become too much to process. Choose the tone setup you can interpret quickly and consistently, and consult your detector’s manual because tone options vary by model and search program. Watch Mental Metal Academy Lesson 8 for the complete guide to target tones.
