LG OLED vs Samsung QD-OLED vs Sony True RGB: Who Won Our 2026 TV Shootout?

HDTVTest Guide 28 days ago

Description

Which is the best TV of 2026? We put the LG G6 OLED, Samsung S99H QD-OLED, Sony BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED & Sony BRAVIA 9 II True RGB LED (0:00 Best Premium LED TV) through our annual blind TV Shootout to find out.

A panel of 8 judges comprising industry professionals, reviewers and video enthusiasts evaluated all 4 TVs across 8 picture-quality categories:

0:58 Near-black performance
1:43 Colour accuracy
2:49 HDR
4:13 Motion
5:31 Uniformity
6:04 Video processing
7:24 Bright-room performance
8:24 Out-of-the-box accuracy

All TVs had their identities masked, then were compared side-by-side against a Sony BVM-HX3110 professional mastering monitor where applicable, using carefully selected real-world movie, broadcast and sports content designed to expose differences in picture quality.

Could Sony’s BRAVIA 9 II True RGB LED really compete with the best OLED TVs? Which display delivered the most accurate cinematic presentation in a dark room? And which TV proved the strongest all-round performer once bright-room viewing, processing and less-than-pristine content were taken into account?

Watch to find out which TVs won Best Home Cinema TV, Best Living Room TV and ultimately Best TV of 2026.

The judges were (in alphabetical order by surname):

1. Rikki Gutcher, ISF-trained AV enthusiast
2. Audun Hage, TV reviewer & editor at Lyd & Bilde magazine, Norway
3. Maciej Koper, Professional Calibrator & Reviewer at Wybierz.tv & Choose.tv
4. David Mackenzie, Video Compressionist & CEO at Fidelity in Motion
5. James Meredith, Technical Director & Co-Founder at Netvio
6. Julian Nelson, Head of Post Production & Co-Founder at Residence Pictures
7. Aron Randhawa, Film Director, Colourist & Creative Technologist
8. Robert Walia, TV enthusiast

The results neither represent the opinions or views of individual judges, nor do they constitute the endorsement of any particular TV brand, since the judges didn’t even know which TV was which throughout the voting process.
