1 OLED takes on 4 RGB Mini LED TVs in this side-by-side demonstration at IFA 2026.
LG Display put its latest Tandem WOLED technology alongside four premium 85-inch RGB Mini LED TVs to demonstrate the fundamental differences between pixel-level OLED light control and zone-based RGB Mini LED backlighting.
We examine blooming and local-dimming behaviour, small-highlight brightness, colour crosstalk, motion clarity, viewing angles and even power consumption... with all five displays shown side by side.
While RGB MiniLED can deliver extremely high brightness and an expanded colour gamut, it remains an LCD-based technology that has to balance brightness, black level and blooming through local dimming. On the other hand, OLED can control the light output of every individual pixel.
Watch the full video to see how the two display technologies compare.
Note: This demonstration was designed and conducted by LG Display at IFA 2026. The TVs and test material shown were selected by LG Display.
