Description
Ever show a client how to row, get them into the position you want, and then watch them lose it on the very next rep?
You tell them to keep their chest up. You cue their shoulders. You help them find the position again.
Then they reach forward, and you’re right back where you started.
Here’s the quickest way I know to break that cycle:
Let one side teach the other.
In this video, I show you a simple band-row variation where the client holds one arm in the finishing position while the other arm performs a rep.
When the moving arm comes back, their job is simple: match the side that’s holding.
Then switch sides.
That’s called an isodynamic row. One side holds while the other moves.
The advantage is that your client always has a reference for what the position should feel like. They don’t lose it every time both arms reach forward, and you don’t have to reset them after every rep.
I also show you why I start with the band anchored slightly above eye level, and when to lower it to chest level to progress the challenge.
Once they can consistently find the position on their own, you can move into regular rows.
