Functional Movement Myths: Babies Aren’t a Blueprint for Adult Movement

Description

@goata_movement has some unique ideas, and I appreciate anyone who’s willing to challenge conventional thinking.

That said, most of their claims about what represents “optimal” human movement — what they call GOATA movement — are built on some of the weakest arguments I’ve seen in a while. And that’s saying a lot in the fitness industry.

Arguments are only as good as the evidence supporting them. The problem is that much of the evidence GOATA uses to justify its movement model relies on classic logical fallacies and sloppy thinking that anyone with basic critical-thinking skills should be able to recognize. And, flawed thinking usually leads to flawed conclusions.
