Today I'm heading to the North Carolina Treasure Hunters Campground to try something a little different—gold prospecting with my Minelab GPX pulse induction detector! I've always loved gold hunting, and after meeting Ross and touring the property earlier this year, I couldn't wait to get back and give it a try.
The mission was simple: find even the tiniest piece of North Carolina gold. The reality? Extreme heat, plenty of digging, a few interesting targets, and a whole lot of learning. While I didn't strike gold this time, I got a firsthand look at one of North Carolina's most unique gold prospecting destinations and explored the incredible Robinson Gold Dredge from 1906.
