Description
The D.A.M Trilogy is Carlos Alomar’s tribute project to celebrate his time as David Bowie’s guitarist and band leader in the latter half of the 1970’s.
Carlos has assembled a cast of musicians, including his former band mate, George Murray, who are performing the iconic songs they helped create during Bowie’s “Berlin” era.
The band are currently touring the UK and Europe, honouring David Bowie and the original D.A.M. Trio drummer, Dennis Davis, both of whom passed away in 2016.
This video is the first official release from the project. The material was recorded earlier this week, at one of the rehearsals for the European tour that commences this evening in Berlin. In fact, as I upload this video, the Metropole is at this very moment filling up with fans.

Originally Nacho was to be part of the tour, showing appropriate visual material on screens, as the songs were performed. There was to be an impressionistic mix of Bowie imagery from the era, and other material that would illustrate and explore song meanings and themes.
This video goes some way to approximate how that might have worked.

Cinematographer and film maker Bernd Pick has been in Berlin documenting the rehearsals and preparations for the tour.
On Wednesday this week, he set up multiple cameras at the rehearsal space and captured the band performing Bowie’s intense song about domestic abuse, Repetition, from the 1979 album, Lodger.
Audio was captured 100% live [no overdubs] by sound engineer Ben Murray. The audio was mixed and mastered by producer Andi Reisner.
Actor and filmmaker Tyler Henry used his considerable influence to swiftly secure me a copy of the 1977 TV movie about domestic abuse, Intimate Strangers.
All the pieces, including some appropriate archive Bowie material, have been hurriedly assembled into this video by Nacho.
Thanks for watching, I hope you dig it!
