When I met my wife for the 1st time nearly 18+ years ago at the Mr Olympia Expo, I was blown away by her beauty and abs, but the "GAME CHANGER" for me was the set of calves 🦵 she had.
She ended up being an awesome human being, too, which led us to fall in love and live this fitness/faith ✝️ lifestyle together.
Flexing calves together is a joke. Our marriage is amazing because of our foundation being in Christ and our dedication to living a fit lifestyle.
Calves are one of those unique muscle groups that take many years to build if you didn't come out of the womb with great ones. So, in the fitness industry, there is a massive respect for those who have them.
👉 Your insertions and length are genetic. Building them bigger can happen even with poor genetics.
It's the muscle group that is most neglected, and competitors can be the group that makes or breaks them, bringing overall balance.
I started training calves when I was young to grow them but I also wanted to jump high, later I would find out calves had on a small % to do with jumping and that was more in the hips and quads but either way I'm glad I did millions of reps to get to where I have.
If you want better calves, make them your favorite muscle group and work them 3 to 5 days a week for 20 to 45 minutes. I personally train them heavy and high volume.
