75 Day Calf Tear Recovery 😱
Celebrating one year since one of the worst injuries I've ever experienced.
➡️ How did it happen? Ironically, it wasn't from lifting heavy in the gym.
My wife and I were in Costa Rica. On our last day, I was carrying two 50-pound suitcases up a steep, uneven hill to the car. I had trained calves hard the day before, so they were already tight.
About three-quarters of the way up, I felt a violent pull.
I knew instantly something was seriously wrong.
Then I had to sit on a five-hour flight home.
The next morning, my calf had swollen like a balloon. I couldn't put any weight on it. The pain was excruciating.
Without question, it was the worst injury I've ever had.
✅ Diagnosis: Grade 3 Gastrocnemius Calf Tear 😱
The first video you'll see was taken on Day 3.
My injured calf measured nearly 2 inches larger than my normal 19-inch calf because of the swelling.
Doctors told me to rest and that recovery would take at least four months. They also said it would probably never be the same again.
I chose a different path.
Instead of simply resting, I built an aggressive recovery protocol.
No peptides. No drugs.(Im not against using peptides for healing but it wasn't my journey)
Just hours every day dedicated to recovery:
Multiple treatment modalities
@hitchfit nutrition @hitchfitsupplements
Up to four hours of training daily (I didn't train calves, but I kept my body moving.)
And a whole lot of prayer.
➡️ 75 days later... I was fully healed.
Back to training heavy.
Jumping.
Sprinting.
And I didn't lose any muscle size.
Doctors often tell you what the average recovery looks like.
I've never wanted to be average.
Discipline.
Consistency.
Knowledge.
Faith.
When you truly understand your body and commit to the process, incredible things can happen.
Thank you to everyone who followed this journey with me.
KING OF CALVES was back. 💪
💥 If you'd like to see the exact recovery protocol I built, comment RECOVERY
I didn't use drugs or peptides, but I created a recovery system that completely changed the outcome.
