COLOSSI OF MEMNON: Granite Guardians of Ancient Egypt! (4K)

Andy's Awesome Adventures Guide 3 months ago

Description

The Colossi of Memnon are two giant (60 foot-tall) statues of King Amenhotep III standing in front of what was the entrance to his sprawling mortuary temple complex. The temple was destroyed by floods and earthquakes but the statues still stand. In fact, these statues have stood here in Luxor since 1350 B.C. and were well known to the ancient Greeks and Romans. As my guide Nour, who is an Egyptologist, tells us, one of the statues created an almost musical sound when the wind came through. This is a quick and free stop to see ancient Egyptian history if you are in Luxor.

If you are coming to Egypt, I strongly recommend hiring Nour as your guide for your private or group tour. He is a Certified Egyptian Tour Guide & Travel Planner, who is based in Luxor and leads tours all over Egypt with custom itineraries. Here is his email address: plantoursofegypt@gmail.com and his WhatsApp numbers are +20 100 647 4623/+20 109 731 7719. If you mention this video to Nour, you will receive 10% off the tour price.
