🧠 Following a bilateral mastectomy, the patient undergoes treatment with cyclophosphamide and is currently taking tamoxifen.
🩹 A primary focus of patient care involves addressing the psychological concerns and body image impacts resulting from a disfiguring bilateral mastectomy.
🔥 Furthermore, because cyclophosphamide is gonadotoxic, it severely impairs normal estrogen production.
🦴 This drop in estrogen triggers significant side effects that clinicians must proactively address, including vasomotor symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and accelerated bone density loss.

Dr. Lynae Brayboy is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University, in Rhode Island, USA.
She obtained her MD from Temple University School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. Currently, she is double-board certified in OB/GYN, as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and is also Visiting (Reproductive) Scientist at the Charité Berlin.
Due to her achievements, she has earned multiple teaching awards.
