A full metal Chinese target slingshot for competitive shooting - a review

Pebble Shooter Review 3 years ago

Descrição

Competitive shooting at tournaments calls for precision-made slingshots, and this is something the Chinese do very well indeed, as this is a national sport in their country - like this design, which has stainless steel forks and an aluminium grip shaped with excellent ergonomics in mind. A rear protruding so-called "beaver tail" enhances stability, while providing useful protection for the thumb palm as well.

Weighing in at 340 grams, this slingshot has a very steady shooting behavior in the way it absorbs forward motion after the pouch has been released. The very luminous fiber optic sights (green and red), which can be mounted on either side, facilitate the aiming phase.

I use Chinese-made "Precise" bands that are 0.4 mm thick, cut to a total length of 19 cm, and tapered from 20 mm at the forks to 12 mm at the pouch, attached to a small Chinese micro-fiber pouch, which is a perfect combination for 7 mm steel ball bearings, while keeping draw weight to low levels for better accuracy.

With practice and perseverance, hitting a 30 mm wide spinner at 10 meters fairly consistently is possible with this slingshot. The smallest circular knock-over target at slingshot competitions that follow the rules of the International Slingshot Association (link below) is 40 mm in diameter.

This particular slingshot is available from various sellers at Aliexpress, and I purchased mine here (price is around USD 30 plus shipping):
