New Orleans at sunrise is a completely different world.

In this episode of the Van & Trike Tour, I ride my AZUB Ti-FLY X recumbent trike through the empty streets of the French Quarter before the crowds wake up. Bourbon Street is quiet, the roads are still wet from the overnight cleanup crews, and the city slowly comes alive as the sun rises over the Mississippi River.

Along the way I explore Jackson Square, the New Orleans riverfront, the Lafitte Greenway, and the legendary Dueling Oaks in City Park — where hundreds of duels reportedly took place in the 1800s.

Then I wrap up the morning the proper New Orleans way: with café au lait and beignets covered in powdered sugar.

Oh… and somewhere along the way I accidentally left the keys to my van sitting out in plain sight for hours.

Yeah. Not my brightest moment.
