Today was my final day at Tucson TOT, and I joined an incredible adaptive cycling ride with my friend Dan and his organization, Spokes Fighting Strokes. 🚴♂️❤️
Dan travels across North America with a massive trailer full of recumbent trikes, helping stroke survivors and people with adaptive needs rediscover freedom through cycling. Watching people get back on the road — some for the first time in years — was honestly inspiring.
We rolled through Tucson’s beautiful desert trails, talked about adaptive cycling, recumbent trikes, recovery, and what it means to regain independence after a life-changing event. I was also dealing with a painful heel injury myself, which made me appreciate even more how adaptable these trikes really are.
This episode isn’t just about cycling… it’s about mobility, confidence, community, and second chances.
And yes… I may have accidentally written a limerick about “Dan the Tricycle Man.” 😂
