What started as a simple group ride in San Antonio turned into one of the most meaningful cycling experiences of my Van & Trike Tour.
I joined Pedal Guerrero and Texas ParaSport for a ride through San Antonio’s historic Spanish missions, river trails, and adaptive cycling community. Along the way I met veterans, adaptive athletes, recreational therapists, and riders whose lives were changed by recumbent trikes and handcycles.
This wasn’t just about bikes.
It was about mobility.
Community.
Mental health.
Freedom.
And rediscovering purpose through cycling.
We explored Mission Espada, Mission San Juan, Mission Concepción, the San Antonio River Trail system, and some incredible local history while riding alongside one of the most welcoming cycling groups I’ve met anywhere in North America.
At the end of the episode, I also share the dedicated shop feature I created for Pedal Guerrero — a unique recumbent and adaptive cycling shop serving the San Antonio community.
