In this video we visit St Leonards Church in Middleton Manchester. Known as Middleton Parish church. We ask the question is this Manchester's oldest church. The church dates back to the Norman times and was also altered in the Medieval 15th century. This is one of Englands wonderful medieval churches. We get a guided tour of the medieval church and learn about its connection the the Kings of medieval England. Middleton parish church is unique because it has a wooden steeple. We go and look at the church clock mechanism that dates to 1807. We then go into the belfry and look at the bells and hear a bell peel. This church is a wonderful example of medieval and Norman architecture. This is a wonderful video about Englands listed buildings and the history of Manchester.
