Description
In this video we visit Stalybridge which is in Tameside in Greater Manchester. We visit a old railway tunnel that is situated half way the hillside. The abandoned railway tunnel is the Cockerhill tunnel or Stalybridge new tunnel. It was just outside Stalybridge station at the start of a now closed railway line called the Micklehurst loop. The entrance to the tunnel is halfway up the hillside because the trains came out of the hillside and onto a bridge over the river Tame. Now that the bridge has gone the tunnel entrance is now cut off halfway up the hillside. We also visit a great place for a beer. Stalybridge station buffet is an authentic victorian buffet bar. You can get craft beer and its full of railway memorabilia. This is a video about urbex an old abandoned railway tunnel and visiting a great place for a beer. It also covers railway history.
