Oozaru is just Japanese for "Big Monkey". Who wrote this schlock?

Learning Ernie Hudson was in "Dragonball Evolution" was the most bizarre moment of my life. I mean, I know, the joke is he is the one "Ghostbusters" alumni who is known as being the only guy from "Ghostbusters" known for being in "Ghostbusters", but he has an illustrious career outside that. The fact they dragged Ernie Hudson out to Durango, Mexico for like three scenes is confounding. How did Ernie Hudson end up in this? Yeah, true, James Marsters is in this, but he has always mostly been a TV actor because of "Buffy" and "Torchwood". I never watched "Buffy", but I watched "Torchwood". Wait, how is Ernie Hudson in this movie? Do you think he auditioned for this or did he owe James Wong a favor? I wonder how that discussion went: "Yeah, we need a big name in this... I'm thinking: Ernie Hudson." Do you think Ernie Hudson met Akira Toriyama? The fact Ernie Hudson is in this movie means Ernie Hudson knows what Dragon Ball is.
"Dragonball Evolution" we also have to talk about that title. I do not mention it in the video, but it might be the worst thing about the movie—besides James Marsters being actually injured on set. The series has always been rendered as "Dragon Ball" in English wish a space. Sure, the Japanese is ドラゴンボール which does not require a space, but using "Dragonball" as one word looks awkward. It makes you think there is only one dragon ball, a singular big "Dragonball". Also, "Evolution" is kind of insulting. Like: Yeah, you got "Dragon Ball", but we "Dragonball EVOLUTION". It is insinuating it is better than the source material. Some marketing executive going: "Okay, so this is live action so it is cooler, and sexier, and more epic than the original thing so slap on that Michael Bay filter and EVOLUTION." It is like naming an adaptation of "Treasure Island" as "Treasure Island: EVOLUTION". What do you have against Robert Louis Stevenson? Do you think you can write it better? Well, you can't and you didn't. I am (obviously) not a stickler for punctuation either, but that bothers me about the title as well. I always thought it should be "Dragonball: Evolution" or "Dragonball; Evolution" like they are trying to imply a logical evolution because it is a live-action adaptation. There's no colon or semi-colon though. This movie is so boring I am analyzing the punctuation of the title now.
I honestly do not have much to actually say about the movie. I guess my most controversial opinion is I think James Marsters is not awful as Piccolo because he clearly liked the series. I guess Justin Chatwin could have been okay...? I have not seen him in anything else so I do not know how he developed as an actor really. Re-watching it: this movie has so many weird things you only notice on the second watch. Like: they actually call the city "Paozu" after Mount Paozu, and not "West City" for some reason. Did they not want to use anything from the later parts of the series? Or how about how, I think, the Capsule Corp logo shows up but it never directly referenced (I think?). There are a lot of weird details that remind you that, yeah, this movie is based on something you like.
Did I mention Ernie Hudson is in this movie?
