Wire Pass to Buckskin Gulch — Beautiful But Intense

Classy Flowers Review 2 months ago

Description

We came to Wire Pass looking for our first real slot canyon experience — and it turned out to be far more intense and immersive than we expected.

Starting from the Wire Pass Trailhead near the Utah–Arizona border, we hiked through narrow sandstone corridors, climbed ladders, crawled under fallen trees, explored ancient petroglyphs, and entered the massive canyon system of Buckskin Gulch.

Along the way, we slowly began to understand why flash flood warnings here are taken so seriously.

Compared to many other famous destinations in the Southwest, Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch felt less crowded, less commercial, and much more connected to nature.

If you enjoy realistic travel experiences, cinematic road trips, hiking, and slot canyons, this is one of the most unique places we visited during our trip.
