After several days of rain and warm weather, I found this beautiful orange-capped Leccinum growing in the forest.
Many people think mushroom season doesn't start until fall, but summer rains can trigger early flushes of many species.
In this short video, I explain the best time to go mushroom hunting in Ontario and why weather is more important than the calendar.
