Major X #1 is dripping with nostalgia from every corner, but sometimes you need to wonder if that is a good thing. The new character from Rob Liefeld finds himself in 1991, around the era when Liefeld was one of the hottest artists in comics, and X-Force sold like hotcakes. This new character comes from a place called X-Istance, a mutant sanctuary that allowed them to live peaceful lives, but in just a moment Major X is transported to an alternate past timeline and all hell breaks loose. Domino, Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, and a new character called Dreadpool all make an entrance and everything falls apart. For some, Major X issue #1 is going to be a welcome return to the classic comic books of their childhood, for others it may be a reminder of what has been left behind, and a reminder of why that might be for the best.
iRate Reviews is the show where I go over specific comic books from my pickup that deserve to be talked about and review them in a little bit more depth. This doesn't mean that they are always good though. Some comics are lessons in what NOT to do.
