When You're Tired of Being Pleasing

Description

Give me a 💯 if you know first hand how exhausting it is to be pleasing. All the time. To everyone.
This isn't about being "nice." Of course you're kind and big hearted. But you know what "pleasing" means. It means being the person others want you to be. Avoiding conflict. Not speaking up. Adapting yourself so you don't rock the boat. And it costs us. The price is that we lose ourselves and live an adapted version. And usually, along the way, we realize it isn't worth it.
If you've heard yourself saying yes when you wanted to say no...
If you've thought "I don't even know what I want anymore"...
If I asked you "who are you?" and you felt that icky feeling... I don't even know who I am, let alone what I want...
If you've thought about speaking up, then quickly decided it's not worth the hassle...
I hear you.

Pleasing runs deeper than we realize. It's an adaptation. Usually we develop it early in life to avoid conflict, keep the peace, and make others happy with us — so we can get the acceptance, belonging, and love we long for.
It works great early on. Then we get so used to it, it becomes normal. Until we're an adult, and we realize we've disappeared inside it.
Our wild, messy, creative, full force Self retreated into an inner cave. Never to be heard from again!
But life always starts to stir us as adults, when the True Self is ready to get back in the driver's seat. Intuition starts nudging, wanting air time.

Coming back to yourself can start with four honest questions:
What do I actually think?
What do I actually feel?
What do I actually want?
What do I actually need?
Not what's acceptable. Not what keeps everyone comfortable. What's true for YOU.
This is the beginning of coming home to yourself.

See the link below if you're ready to find your way back to yourself. To feel safe and free to be fully you — keeping all that's good about you, your big heart, your love of harmony — and reclaiming your ability to think, feel, speak, choose, want and need freely... without fear of conflict, judgment, or rejection.
