Some of the most famous four-chord songs that we can easily play on the guitar will use one recurring set of chord movements.

The I-V-vi-IV progression is arguably one of the most recognizable chord sequences that allows this in modern music. In fact, this one chord set can allow musicians to seamlessly transition between dozens of famous songs.

In this lesson we will use the I-V-vi-IV progression in the key of “E” to learn several jamming options for expanded rhythm playing.

The examples will cover; power chords, mid-string triads, upper string triads, arpeggio coverage and how to apply major and minor “chord specific” pentatonic scales.
