On this Sunday Knowledge & Wisdom I’ll take the “D” Minor Soul /R&B chord progression, (covered in the Sep. 17 Thursday Hang lesson), and I will connect it to a “D” Minor Pentatonic (add9) Scale.
This 6- Note Pentatonic scale is very close to the Natural Minor, but it leaves out the Natural Minor’s “b6” scale degree.
In this lesson, we’ll take the 6 notes of our “D” Minor Pentatonic (add9) and use them to solo over a minor tonality Soul R&B riff.
Let’s get everything started today, with a run through of two excellent neck patterns for this scale.
