I found this "restored" 1967 VW Beetle on Facebook Marketplace. The seller was asking $1500, but after sitting outside for 7 years with NO windows, seized engine, and a rusted floor pan I managed to pick it up for just $500. I was hoping someone else would go rescue this forgotten classic old car, but it remained unsaved.
In this first episode, we bring it home, start the deep clean, and hunt for all the parts that were removed for the "restoration." We also take our first real look at the damage—including a rusty floor pan and a roof / hood that someone decided to use as a trampoline. This is the beginning of the "Humpty Dumpty" abandoned restoration project. Can we put this $500 Beetle back together again?
