Jesse Ridgway, known to millions as McJuggerNuggets, and his wife Ashley filmed and monetized their grief, terminated the pregnancy after the Trisomy 21 diagnosis, and then claimed they've "seen the darkest side of humanity." In this breakdown I get into the bigger issue almost no one wants to name: modern eugenics, and how prenatal genetic testing, gene editing, CRISPR, and the march toward "designer babies" are quietly normalizing the idea that some human lives aren't worth living.
I also ask the questions the defenders won't answer. If "choice" is really the principle, why does the trait matter? What happens when the same screening targets diabetes — or when a couple aborts a baby for being gay or trans? And what does a man with Down syndrome, Frank Stephens, who told the world "my life is worth living," have to say to all of it?
