Description
This Ulanzi U-Clock II review tests the new TC002 smart pixel clock from unboxing through real setup. See what changed from the TC001, how Ulanzi Studio works, and whether the larger 16×52 display is easier to live with.
The TC002 is a colourful desktop pixel display for time, weather, timers, artwork, schedules, and social-media follower counts. I walk through the magnetic charging dock, built-in battery, physical controls, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi setup, and the Mac/Windows Ulanzi Studio app.
You will also see the practical setup details that matter: connecting the clock to Wi-Fi, adding a YouTube user ID and token, linking a calendar, choosing apps, muting the clock tick, and moving between the display's built-in tools. There is room for deeper customization through pixel art, MQTT, HTTP, and custom apps, although this review focuses on the standard experience.
The verdict is straightforward: the new app makes setup easier than the first generation, but this still is not a completely plug-and-play desk gadget. If you like retro pixel displays, creator stats, or a customizable bit of background ambience, the TC002 has plenty to explore.
