Every November 3, the UAE honours its flag, a symbol of unity, strength and national pride.
Launched in 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Flag Day marks the occasion when people across the country come together to raise the national flag.
Designed by 19-year-old H.E. Abdullah Al Maainah in 1971, the flag was first raised by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Its four colours, inspired by a poem by Safi Al Din Al Hilli, reflect the values and spirit of the nation.
