Two Simple Improvements That Make Your Switch Safer

Woodworking with DIY tools Video 7 months ago

Description

What a mistake! I had it installed incorrectly, and although it worked, the safety switch I use for the power tools was neither as effective nor as practical. I had mounted it in a horizontal position and didn’t realize that a piece of wood could fall onto the green button and turn on the woodworking machine connected to it. Now I’ve installed the safety switch vertically and also took the opportunity to make two improvements: I added a large red plate to make the power button easier to press, even hands-free with my leg. And I attached a hinge that allows lifting the safety switch to access the socket without having to bend down to plug in the machine’s cable.
