Description
I was fed up with the wood sliding poorly on the plywood tabletop of my DIY router table. So I bought some stainless steel sheets to make a metal surface. Now the wood slides much better and routing wood is much easier. I cut the sheet metal pieces to the necessary sizes using a drill nibbler. Then I attached them to the plywood tabletop with double-sided tape. I did need to adjust the height of the insert plate, of course. I also installed a pivoting fence, which I fitted with two different pivot points using two countersunk nuts.
