Chord voicing knowledge is essential for every guitar student to learn because it transforms basic chord shapes into an artistic tool.
This lesson will focus on five ways to improve how we plan the use of chords. The first is superior voice leading. We’ll learn how to align the chord tones for cleaner sounding progressions.
Another topic is how the chord tones can be stacked for better chord color. We’ll also explore chord tone clarity for a cleaner sound when playing and recording.
Finally, we’ll study how the notes of a scale can relate back to the chord tones to generate more melodic chord movements. Plus we’ll also integrate the chords within the context of performing a solo.
