Description
Official SteamOS is finally up and running on Apple Silicon Macs! In this video, we test out SteamMac (FX Steam Launcher), a brand-new open-source GitHub project that runs Valve's official ARM64 SteamOS build from the Steam Frame inside a lightweight virtual machine on macOS. There is no cloud gaming or streaming involved—this uses FEX, Proton, and Apple's KosmicKrisp Metal 4 / MoltenVK translation layers to run x86 Windows PC games locally on a Mac with full SteamOS Game Mode, MetalHUD, and controller support.
