In this video, we take a first look at the all-new Minisforum T5 Max (DeskMini / EliteMini T5 Max)! Coming in at just 6.2 liters with a built-in 250W power supply, this compact system houses a custom Minisforum Strix Halo Mini-ITX motherboard powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 APU and Radeon 8060S graphics running at up to 120W TDP.

It packs 48GB of unified LPDDR5x memory—but there’s one catch we haven't seen on any other Strix Halo system yet: the memory is locked at 6400 MT/s instead of 8000 MT/s. We tear it down, check out the BIOS, and put it head-to-head against an 8000 MT/s Ryzen AI Max+ 388 system in synthetic benchmarks, local LLMs, and 1440p AAA gaming to see how much performance you actually lose!
