Mental illness is real. Postpartum struggles are real. Mothers who need help should receive compassion, treatment and support. But compassion should never cause us to forget the victims or begin calling evil good.
Isaiah 5:20 warns:
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.”
Thousands of years ago, the Bible warned Israel not to sacrifice their children to Molech. Today we may use different words and different justifications, but Christians still need to ask the question: What happens to a culture when the desires and suffering of adults become more important than protecting innocent children?
Children are not the enemy. They are a gift from God.
Psalm 127:3 says:
“Children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
