After 4-5 years of research, writing, archaeology, theology, ancient-history study and worldbuilding, Hernu and I can finally hold the first finished book of the LIGHTBORN SAGA in our hands.
LIGHTBORN takes readers back into one of the most mysterious periods in biblical history: The forgotten world before the Great Flood.
Genesis gives us only glimpses of that ancient world: the sons of God, the Nephilim, Cain’s descendants, early cities, violence spreading across the earth, a prophecy of the seed of the woman who will crush the head of the serpent, and ultimately the judgment of the Flood. Jesus also said the end times will be like the days of Noah...
But how do you build an entire world around all of that, with epic storytelling?
For years we researched Scripture, archaeology, ancient Mesopotamian cultures, ancient Jewish writings, systematic theology, and the civilizations that arose in the ancient Near East and spread throughout the world. Our aim was to create a world that feels real while clearly separating biblical truth from historical evidence, ancient tradition and fiction.

LIGHTBORN is filled with adventure, spiritual warfare, prophecy, romance, ancient cultures, strange creatures and the battle between light and darkness.
But one distinction is extremely important:
LIGHTBORN is historical fiction inspired by the biblical account. The Bible alone is the inspired Word of God and our final authority.
Where Scripture speaks clearly, we want to follow it. Where history and ancient texts give us additional information, we examine them carefully. And where the evidence is uncertain, we treat it as theory or fiction rather than biblical fact.
